As with individual or family psychotherapy, couples work is not a "one size fits all" approach. Which form of couples work is right for you and your partner may depend on the specific issues you hope to address through treatment. Our practice specifically specializes in treating couples, all of our clinicians have specific training in various forms of couple psychotherapy, including (but not limited to):
Our practice is comprised of clinicians who have specific training and experience in working with couples. As Marriage and Family Therapists, all clinicians have knowledge of systemic and attachment theories, which equips us to understand the nuances of healing the dyad as well as addressing the individuals within the couple. This treatment format involves meeting with a psychotherapist along with your partner for one hour per session. We offer in-person sessions at our offices in Manhattan as well as through Telehealth. Research suggests that couples who engage in treatment prior to cohabitating or getting married are significantly less likely to get divorced, as well as to enhance each partner's satisfaction in the relationship. Our clinicians are trained in addressing specific issues that aid in safeguarding couples who plan to move in together, get engaged or married, or further their commitment in some other way.
Contact the practice and one of our clinicians will schedule a phone consultation to help you and your partner decide what makes the most sense in addressing your specific needs. You can also read more about each therapist's approach to treating couples on the About page.
